Restaurant DANSK
Denmark House offers a unique experience that encompasses modern Danish design, art, cinema, literature, music, cuisine and the like – each an important hallmark of Melbourne’s own diverse cultural heritage. Restaurant DANSK, located in the heart of Denmark House, allows guests to more literally get a taste of Denmark.
Open daily to members and their guest, DANSK serves lunch, afternoon tea, drinks and dinner. Experienced Danish culinary wizard and passionate practitioner of the Manifesto for the New Nordic Kitchen, Bente Grysbæk, prepares authentic and contemporary Nordic cuisine using the finest, local ingredients.
Manifesto for the New Nordic Kitchen
In 2004 some of the greatest chefs in the Nordic region created the Manifesto for the New Nordic Kitchen. World-famous NOMA Restaurant chef Rene Redzepi, who was celebrated at a recent function at Denmark House, was among the founders of the manifesto. Denmark House and DANSK are heavily inspired by the basic principles of the Manifesto and we would like to give our members and guests the opportunity to experience original Nordic and Danish cuisine right here in Melbourne. Our head chef prepares her exciting range of dishes using traditional methods and a variety of fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
