DESCRIPTION:The snow is falling at Denmark House\, and one of our favourite Danish Christmas traditions is back. \nJ-Dag\, short for Julebrygsdag\, marks the arrival of the Danish Christmas beer and\, for many Danes\, the unofficial beginning of the festive season. \nOnce again\, Denmark House will be bringing a little Danish winter magic to Melbourne and we can now confirm that the Christmas beers have arrived and will be flowing on the night! \nJ-Dag has been celebrated in Denmark since 1990\, when friends gather to welcome the season with Christmas beer\, music\, good company and plenty of hygge. Here at Denmark House\, it has become a much-loved annual tradition of our own and one of the first signs that Christmas is just around the corner. \nExpect a festive Aquavit Bar\, cold Christmas beer\, good food and plenty of Danish Christmas spirit as we raise a glass together and officially kick off the festive season. \nFood & Drinks \nOur bar menu will be available from 4:00pm in case you want a hotdog alongside your Christmas beers. \nChristmas beer will\, of course\, be the star of the evening\, alongside our usual selection of beer\, wine\, cocktails\, akvavit and non-alcoholic drinks. \nThere is no ticket required to join us for J-Dag. DESCRIPTION:Our much-loved annual Juleklip is back\, once again in collaboration with Danish School Down Under (DSDU). \nJoin us for an afternoon of Christmas hygge as we come together to make traditional Danish decorations for the Denmark House Christmas tree. \nWe’ll be making favourites such as flettede julehjerter\, paper stars and other classic Danish Christmas decorations\, with all materials provided. \nYou are also very welcome to bring your own favourite paper\, templates\, cutting tools or family Christmas traditions to share. And of course\, you can make a few decorations to take home for your own tree too. \nFood & Drinks\nThere will be plenty to eat and drink throughout the afternoon\, with fish & chips\, Danish meatballs\, hotdogs and risalamande available to purchase\, along with drinks from the bar. \nTickets\nTickets are $10 per person for everyone attending\, with both adults and children very welcome. \nLast year’s Juleklip was completely sold out\, so we strongly recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. \nCome along for an afternoon of cutting\, folding\, decorating and plenty of Christmas hygge as we get Denmark House ready for the festive season.

DESCRIPTION:For decades\, the Christmas Julefrokost at Denmark House has been a much-loved part of the festive season\, bringing members\, families and friends together around the table for a generous celebration of Danish food\, tradition and hygge. \nWhile the way we serve our traditional Christmas lunch has evolved\, the spirit of the occasion remains very much the same. Our former buffet has now become a social dining experience\, with the same generous selection of Danish Christmas favourites served family-style to the table\, made for sharing\, conversation and enjoying together. \nExpect a festive spread featuring favourites such as pickled herring\, salmon\, crumbed fish with remoulade\, roast pork with crackling\, roast duck\, frikadeller\, seasonal salads and sides\, followed by the traditional risalamande\, tea\, coffee and more Christmas favourites. \nThroughout December\, we take our usual monthly Saturday tradition and make it a weekly celebration\, with Julefrokost held every Saturday and two sittings each day. \nSession 1: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm\nSession 2: 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm \nTo allow us to prepare the dining room for the following sitting\, we kindly ask guests to vacate their tables by the conclusion of their booked session. \nWhether it has been part of your Christmas tradition for years or this is your first Danish Julefrokost\, we invite you to join us for one of the highlights of the Denmark House calendar — good food\, good company and a proper Danish Christmas in the heart of Melbourne. \nPricing\n$75 Danish Club Members\n$85 Guests and Non-members\n$40 Children (u15) \nBookings are essential.
