
Sebastian Walker-Staalkjaer
President
Sebastian has been a member of the Danish Club since 2018. Professionally, he works in emergency services, overseeing critical communications and response coordination across the state. Within the Club, Sebastian is passionate about strengthening governance, supporting the long-term sustainability of Denmark House, and enhancing the member experience through strong community engagement.

Julie Maegaard
Vice President
Julie is a trained nurse and is the only Danish Committee Member from Roskilde. (Her children have been in Danish School Down Under for more than 10 years where she also volunteers.

Mark Upton
Vice President
Mark’s association with Denmark is via his wife and daughter both of whom were Exchange Students in Esbjerg and Odense respectively. Mark is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) and the only non-Danish Member of the Committee.

Michael Jensen
Treasurer
Born in Denmark, he moved to Australia at the age of 20. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (FCA) and runs his own accounting practice in Richmond.

Rasmus Fiedler
Director of Entertainment
Rasmus moved to Australia from Denmark in 2005 on a spouse visa, having lived there for five years with his wife after they met in Egypt in 1997. His three children all attended Danish School Down Under. Professionally, Rasmus is an Electronics Technician. Within the club, he is a YViT regular and a two-time Fuglekonge.

Gitte Mortensen
Committee member
Gitte is from the Southern part of Jutland and moved to Melbourne in 2000. Gitte is a librarian with a specialty in information management and events.

Henning Skallebæk
Committee member
Henning has been a member of the Danish club since 1995 after arriving from Denmark in 1994. Henning previously served on the committee in the mid-2000s.
He is currently the Managing Director of a large food manufacturing company.
