Queen Margrethe II Birthday set menu lunch celebration

Let’s mark Queen Margrethe II’s birthday the Danish way — together, around the table.
On Thursday 16 April, we’ll be serving a special Queen’s Birthday set menu for lunch. This is a chance to gather with fellow Danes (and Denmark-lovers), share a toast, and enjoy a proper Danish meal in hyggelig company.
Why we celebrate
Queen Margrethe II was born on 16 April 1940 and served as Denmark’s Queen for 52 years (1972–2024) before abdicating in favour of her son, King Frederik X.
For many of us, she represents a lifetime of Danish history, culture, and continuity — and this lunch is our small Melbourne way of honouring that tradition.
Important note
This lunch will be a set-menu with choices of classic Danish gastronomy. Our usual à la carte menu will not be available.
